The International Conference "Ukrainian Nuclear Forum-2019: Modern Nuclear Energy - State and Trends of Development»" on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Ukrainian Nuclear Forum Association was held in Kyiv on July 3 and 4, 2019. The organizers of the event were the Ukrainian Nuclear Forum and the Ukrainian Nuclear Society NGO. Approximately 170 people took part in the conference, in particular, heads of enterprises of the nuclear power industry of Ukraine, representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, IAEA, FORATOM, WANO, World Nuclear Association (WNA), foreign companies - partners of Energoatom, including Westinghouse Electric, Holtec International, UJV Rez as, Urenco, Fortum, representatives of foreign embassies in Ukraine, industry experts, academics, media representatives took part in the conference, .
Opening the conference, the president of the Association "Ukrainian Nuclear Forum", the president of the NNEGC Energoatom, Yuri Nedashkovsky, emphasized that during this period, the UNF became an important instrument of communication with the state structures responsible for making decisions in the energy sector in order to communicate positions and interests of its members; became noticeable in the information space and enjoys a reputation among experts in the field of energy and profile journalists. Today, the new nuclear power industry has faced new challenges. There is a lot of work to implement the Energy Strategy of Ukraine-2035, therefore, the actual consolidation of the efforts of companies-members at the platform of UNF. ""The objective of our branch is to ensure the sustainability of the needs of the domestic economy by safe electricity, the development and strengthening of the existing infrastructure, which would contribute to the construction of new modern nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities, the implementation of large-scale projects on the localization of equipment production, the creation of new high-paying jobs, transfer of technology and knowledge, and many others. We will discuss all these issues within the framework of the Conference, "- said Yuri Nedashkovsky, President of the UNF, the president of NNEGC Energoatom.
Yuri Nedashkovsky noted that today the world's nuclear energy is undergoing a new stage of its development, with its inherent periods of time, with new, extremely serious challenges. "Ukraine does not stand aside from global processes - within the framework of the General Assembly and the annual FORATOM Nuclear Europe 2019 Conference, held June 25-26, 2019 in Bucharest, Energoatom, together with the leaders of the nuclear industry, has signed the Manifesto on Energy Efficiency and Preventing Change the climate The document provides for the unification of the efforts of European countries' nuclear power plants to ensure an effective share of nuclear energy in the future low carbon energy complex ", - recalled Yuri Nedashkovsky.
